The eye behind the Edit
Erin Ferguson has always had a knack for connecting the dots. Between people and places. Between a great find and someone who would love it. Between finding a home and feeling at home in a neighbourhood.
That instinct inspired Erin's Edit in 2020. Originally a printed book of local favourites, it was created to give Calgary's small businesses a platform without the price tag of paid advertising. The print edition retired in 2023, but the idea stayed with her. Now it lives online, with more room to discover, share and keep pace with the city.
As a top 1% REALTOR® in Calgary, Erin's work is rooted in relationships and a close connection to the communities she serves. Championing the independent businesses that give those neighbourhoods their character has always been a personal passion.
Every inclusion is personal. Nobody pays to be featured. Just a considered edit of places worth knowing, from someone who knows that loving where you live extends well beyond your front door.
The guide is updated every season. If a place has closed or slipped, or you think something belongs here, tell Erin.
A look back
How it started. How it's going.
It started on paper: a printed book of about 100 pages, Reader's Digest size, made to be kept on the coffee table. Four volumes ran between 2020 and 2022, and the last one held about 270 places. Today the Edit lives online, with 456 places, six neighbourhood guides and an update every season.
