Erin Ferguson

The eye behind the Edit

Erin Ferguson has always had a knack for connecting the dots. Between people and places. Between a great find and the person who would love it. Between buying a home and feeling at home in a neighbourhood. Friends joke that she's a one-woman concierge service, the person you text before you Google. Nothing makes her happier than passing along a great person, place or thing.

That instinct led to Erin's Edit in 2020. With small businesses feeling the strain of pandemic lockdowns and rising costs, Erin wanted to give them a platform without the price tag of paid advertising. The Edit began in print, with four mini volumes of local favourites published between 2020 and 2023. When the print run ended, the recommendations never stopped, and neither did the plan to take it digital. In late 2026, that plan came to life. Erin's Edit now lives online, with more room to discover, share and keep pace with the city.

Erin learned the value of community early. Born and raised in Yellowknife, she lived in Victoria, Regina and the Cayman Islands before putting down roots in Calgary 25 years ago. That path led her to real estate, where she has spent more than fifteen years building a referral-based business that ranks in the top 1% of REALTORS® in Calgary and with Century 21 nationally. Her work is rooted in relationships and a close connection to the communities she serves, and championing the independent businesses that give those neighbourhoods their character has always been personal.

She knows what it takes to turn a dream into a business. That's why nobody pays to be featured here. No sponsored posts, no paid placements, no influencer deals. Just a considered edit of places worth knowing, from someone who believes loving where you live extends well beyond your front door.

The guide is updated every season. If a place has closed or slipped, or you think something belongs here, tell Erin.
